4 Dead, 29 Wounded In Another Bloody Chicago Weekend
Four people are dead, including a 13 year-old boy, and 29 others are wounded after yet another incredibly bloody weekend in Chicago.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, 13 year-old Tyquan Tyler was shot in the chest after a drive-by shooting.
Another shooting victim was just 14 years-old.
The number of violent incidents that occurred in just three days is breathtaking.
At least 29 others, including two other teen boys, were wounded in shootings throughout the city:
The boys, 14 and 15, were playing basketball in the 2400 block of East 74th when around 8:45 p.m. Saturday someone approached on foot and shot at them, police said.
The 15-year-old was taken in stable condition to Jackson Park Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg and the 14-year-old was taken in fair condition to Comer Children’s Hospital at the University of Chicago Medical Center with gunshots to the back and shoulder, police said.
In another incident, a man was shot and two other people were hit by a vehicle in a possible gang-related incident around 4 a.m. Saturday in front of the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, police said.
A group of at least six people were walking outside when two dark vehicles approached, police spokesman Robert Perez said. One of the vehicles veered off the road and struck a 25-year-old man, then turned around and struck a 21-year-old woman.
While fleeing the scene, someone from one of the vehicles opened fire and shot a 26-year-old man in the 2400 block of North Cannon, Perez said. That victim was shot in the shoulder and taken in serious condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
