President Obama Calls Woman Credited w/ Stopping Elementary School Gunman
President Obama has called Antoinette Tuff, the woman credited with disarming a gunman who terrorized a Georgia elementary school earlier this week.
At the height of the crisis, Tuff cleverly built a rapport with gunman Brandon Hill, eventually convincing him to surrender peacefully to police. No one was injured.
The White House says Obama spoke with Antoinette Tuff on Thursday while in New York, where he is on an education-focused bus trip.
The White House says the president praised Tuff for the courage she displayed earlier this week while talking to a gunman who entered the school where she works.
It’s great to see this incredible woman receiving the recognition she deserves.
