Group of Black Patrons Denied Service at Restaurant Because White Customer Felt ‘Threatened’

A party of 25 African American family and friends were denied service at Wild Wing Cafe in Charleston, NC after a white customer said she felt threatened by them.

After waiting for two hours, the manager finally approached them about the situation. When one member of the groups started recording the exchange, they were asked to leave.

Brooklyn Family Says Dad Died of Heart Attack After NYPD Raid on Home

The NYPD is once again under fire over a Brooklyn family’s claim that 43-year old Carlos Alcis suffered a fatal heart attack after police raided their home.

Police were reportedly looking for a suspect who’d assaulted a woman and robbed her of a cell phone. While the NYPD says they were let into the apartment, the Alcis family offers a different account.

The family says over 10 police officers stormed their home and dragged two of Alcis’ sons out of bed, believing they were suspects. Amidst the confusion and terror, Carlos – a father of eight – went into cardiac arrest.

Ebony Magazine is dedicating their September issue to Trayvon Martin.

The magazine will feature four covers honoring the memory of Trayvon Martin. Three covers feature celebrity dads Spike Lee, Dwanye Wade, and Boris Kodjoe posing with their sons in hoodies.

The final cover is the parents of Trayvon Martin, and Trayvon’s younger brother Jahvaris.

Trayvon Martin’s Parents Call Juror B29 Comments ‘Devastating’

The parents of the late Trayvon Martin has responded to the widely-reported revelations from Juror B29.

In an interview with Good Morning America, B29 – the only minority juror on the George Zimmerman trial – proclaimed that George Zimmerman “got away with murder,” and that she owes an apology to Trayvon Martin’s family.
